We may be entering a new age of Batman-themed superiority very soon. Next week will see the premiere of The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson as our new Dark Knight. The movie has been getting a lot of press over the last few months. Furthermore, excitement is rampant for this dark and gritty Batman origin. Fans have already entirely taken over the IMAX preview sales. It seems that the praise just keeps on coming too since the London premiere hit recently. Overall, initial impressions from critics of The Batman are overwhelmingly good. Some have even called it their new favorite Dark Knight, toppling Christian Bale himself!
Stars Of All Kinds Are Weighing In On This Bat Crusade
As we reach the last week until the official premiere, a lot of stars from around the DC universe have stepped up to discuss the movie. Zoe Kravitz (who plays Catwoman opposite Pattinson) has taken the time to delve into her character. Now that the press tour has begun, she gave some info about her initial impressions about The Batman and her character’s place there. Paul Dano, who plays The Riddler, has also leaked some info, but it’s more spoiler territory. Google at your own risk.
The Batman Film Has Been Through Quite A Journey
A lot has happened to The Batman between its inception and recent premiere. Initially, it was meant to be Batfleck’s standalone movie. After the Justice League flop, that all changed. But it seems this new Bat may be the better option of the two. The new iteration intends to hold us for three hours to tell a complex web of tales about Bruce Wayne, Batman, the family legacy, and the first supervillains he’ll see. Thankfully, it seems that it won’t be entirely standalone. A sequel is already in the works, with talks of a trilogy down the line. Hopefully, Pattinson’s performance hits the mark.
The Batman premieres worldwide on March 4.
