The CW has released their first look at Superman & Lois, the next small-screen installment in their popular Arrowverse. The series sees Tyler Hoechlin (Clark Kent, aka Superman) and Elizabeth Tulloch (Lois Late) reprise their roles, this time featuring in their very own show. Fans have been eagerly anticipating a new trailer after The CW have been snakily sharing everything from series overviews to casting news over on their socials. However, the wait for a first look is now over! But be warned, the whole thing feels very much more like an early look teaser rather than a full-blown trailer.
A Small Glimpse of Superman & Lois
We get a first glimpse at their new home in Smallville as Superman gives a typical inspirational monologue. It appears as if the series will focus on Lois and Clark’s family and social life as opposed to the larger-than-life battles Superman is known for. We should expect it to feature a lot of parenting as they look after sons Jonathan (Jordan Elsass) and Jordan (Alexander Garfin). At some point, they are also reacquainted with Lana Lang (Emmanuelle Chriqui). It’s definitely going to be interesting to see how Superman & Lois fares with The CW going down this more grounded route. Will the children inherit their father’s Kryptonian superpowers as they grow older?
So we should expect a more family-orientated Clark Kent and Lois Lane. From the looks of things, it could take a similar route to WandaVision on Disney+. The MCU show looks like it will turn the superhero genre on its head.
The show is written by Todd Helbing (The Flash), who will also act as an executive producer. Joining him as executive producers are Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti, and Sarah Schechter. Despite focusing on parenthood, it’s not at all Superman without a villain. Who will he take on this time? Unfortunately, that remains to be seen.
Superman & Lois will premiere on The CW on Feb 23, 2021. If you miss it, catch up will be available through the app. Will you be watching it? What do you think will go down? Let us know in the comments!
