Trevor Noah took over for Jon Stewart as the host of The Daily Show back in 2015. Jon Stewart did give Trevor Noah advice on his way out, saying, “Try to leave before it drains you, before it makes you tired and angry.” Noah didn’t know at the time why someone would become tired and angry on The Daily Show. Jon Stewart gave Trevor Noah some more advice, telling him that he could leave whenever he wanted and that his journey was his own. He went from being a correspondent to being the host of the late-night talk show for seven years. He has taken the advice to heart and is moving on. Noah has now said that he wants to leave before he feels burnt out. He hadn’t even pre-planned doing it live on the air back in September on the late-night talk show.
‘The Daily Show’ Will Go On Without Trevor Noah
Not only will The Daily Show and Trevor Noah’s career will continue after Noah’s departure. The advice that Jon Stewart gave Noah advice that made him know that the late-night talk show shouldn’t consume his life. The first host of The Daily Show, Craig Kilborn, knew this, and Stewart knew this. Trevor Noah already has comedy tour dates, so he is already moving on. Another host for the late-night talk show hasn’t been determined yet, but Comedy Central is figuring it out. The Daily Show has had many alums like Jessica Williams, Jordan Klepper, Stephen Colbert, and John Oliver, that have gone on to have very successful careers. Noah has expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to work on the show but acknowledges that he needs to move on. His last day will be on December 8.
It’s because of people like Stewart and Noah that the show has such a high reputation and many award nominations.
