Swedish developer Tanja Leonova loves figuring out puzzles and exploring nature. After previously working as a system developer, she decided to embark on her own creative route. Therefore, she’s designing The Dream on Kickstarter, a first-person puzzle-solving experience where stress and time restraints are non-existent.
Peaceful Puzzles Amid The Island in The Dream
In The Dream, the player is stuck on a wonderful island, but they must find their way back home. However, the only way out is to solve the many puzzles the island possesses. Through land and water and day and night, wonder will turn at every angle the more you figure out the island’s enigmas. Also, nothing is rushing you to complete any objectives. You play at your own pace for the sole sake of enjoying puzzles. That’s exactly what Tanja Leonova is aiming for in The Dream.
Much of The Dream‘s development comes from Tanja Leonova working on it side-by-side with her studies. Recently, she’s been more motivated to work on the game than ever because of its rising production and how much fun she’s having creating it. While writing out her Kickstarter campaign, Leonova expressed her determination to continue work on The Dream, saying:
I started making The Dream in my spare time and I soon noticed that I enjoy this more than my studies. Whenever I worked on this project I felt very good. I’m learning a lot in school, and although I enjoy the tasks and the process, I have to be honest with myself about what I want. Therefore, if the project is sponsored, I will focus on it full time.”
The Dream is slated for a February 2023 release, with its development being handled within the Unity engine. It’ll be available for Windows and Linux via Steam when it enters its Early Access phase for $20.
