The Flash, like almost every show currently on-air, has stopped production due to the coronavirus pandemic. While there was hope that production on the season could continue later this year, it’s now been confirmed that the season will end earlier than expected.
In an interview with TVLine, series star Grant Gustin delved into what we will see in the remainder of season 6. At the end of the interview, Gustin was asked whether or not audiences should be suspicious of what form Eobard Thawne takes in the show’s future:
“There was going to be a big Thawne cliffhanger at the end of what this season would have been, but thatās not going to be the cliffhanger we get. [Episode] 619, ‘Success Is Assured,’ is going to end up being our finale, so weāre going to have a different cliffhanger than originally planned. But the cliffhanger at the end of 619 does serve as a pretty good finale.”
It remains to be seen if this may become the fate of the other Arrowverse shows currently on-air like Batwoman, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl.
The Flash “So Long and Goodnight” Preview
This means we have 4 episodes left in The Flash season 6, including the episode that will air tonight titled “So Long and Goodnight”. In the upcoming episode, Rag Doll returns to torment Team Flash. The villain became a fan-favorite due to his uncanny ability to contort himself and the horror aura around the character. TVLine asked Gustin what is it like to work with contortionist Troy James (who plays Rag Doll):
“The thing they mostly layer on top of Troyās performance is the ‘breaking bones’ sound effect when he is bending. But itās not just during the takes [that he does that], he will just randomly walk toward you [backstage] in a spider crawl. [Laughs] Heās the nicest, most friendly dude, but itās terrifying once he has that mask on and heās bending all over the place.”
