What Is The Hollow About?
The Hollow is a horror graphic novel for young adults. A quick synopsis states that it will follow Ruby James, a young podcaster. Ruby joins her three best friends to take a trip to her ancestral home in the Great Smoky Mountains. However, that home is in the mysterious ghost town of Cure, where urban legends and monsters are around every corner.
Being a horror novel, The Hollow is sure to offer plenty of spooky thrills. Of course, it is set in the young adult genre, so it will also offer the perfect entryway for those looking to explore the genre.
Who is Behind This New Book?
The Hollow is from the mind of Che Grayson, with Taylor Keith handling the art. Grayson is a filmmaker, writer, and inspirational speaker. She holds an MFA from NYU’s Graduate Film Program. Under the mentorship of Spike Lee and Kasi Lemmons, she has written, directed, and produced a number of shorts, commercials, and pilots. However, comic fans may know her from her self-published superhero series, Rigamo. That series followed the adventures of young Era Moore, whose tears could bring back the dead. Similarly, this series was the subject of her 2016 TED talk, “The Superhero We Need.” Recently, she contributed to DC Comics’ Batman Urban Legends series.
Meanwhile, Taylor Keith holds a BFA in Illustration from East Carolina University. Born and raised in North Carolina, Keith holds a passion for comics and video games. He is also a fan of horror and the occult, making him a perfect fit for The Hollow.
