The Matrix movie, which came out in 1999, was an icon for all kinds of futuristic-themed content. Epic Games took the movie’s style and created The Matrix Awakens, a playable demo of Unreal Engine 5. The demo’s impressive details and graphics show the next evolution of the gaming industry. Inspecting the details in the city was an impressive experience, but the demo is getting delisted from PlayStation Store and Xbox Store.
We’re about to meet the real games made by Unreal Engine 5, which means there’s no need to demo anymore. If you’re a Matrix fan or someone who is impressed by these graphics, you got a deadline to explore the city.
The Matrix Awakens Is Getting Delisted on July 9th
The demo started with a cinematic, showing how realistic the demo is. We’ve seen a lot of comparisons between The Matrix movie and the game. It didn’t include real gameplay, there was no story to move with, and it was just showing the potential of Unreal Engine 5. Unfortunately for people who didn’t play it, the deadline is July 9th for the consoles.
The demo was also available for PC, but it wasn’t that simple to download like a game. You needed to download the Unreal Engine 5 engine and the city sample of the game. Probably, this method is going forward, but we can’t say the same thing for console players. The demo was free to play. That’s why Epic is relaxed about making this decision.
We heard more details about the process of the engine from the Unreal State Event in April. The development process continues, but it is in the last process. The Matrix Awakens was a successful demo, and we’re hoping to play the games made by Unreal Engine in the future. What are your expectations from these games?
