The Quarry is the game everyone is talking about right now (well, at least they were), and it has now been revealed by Supermassive Games that the game will be receiving a patch update that comes with a new multiplayer Wolf Pack mode.
This is an interesting turn of events for The Quarry. Adding a component like a Wolf Pack mode as a means of developing a great multiplayer mechanic is an interesting idea. The game was hit with mixed reviews overall, but could this new import change the fortunes of the game?
What Is This New Mode in The Quarry?
According to 2K Games, the publisher of The Quarry, this new mode will be an “invite-only mode where a host can invite up to seven friends with access to the game to watch along. While the host plays, their audience votes on each key decision, with the majority vote determining the outcome.”
2K Games went on to add, “With endless replayability already built into The Quarry and its deep narrative experience, this new Wolf Pack mode will offer players a whole new take on the endless choices you will face on your unique journey and will enable you to experience the horror with your friends.”
A multiplayer mode was initially supposed to be included in the game when it was recently released. However, this had to be delayed because the company needed to get its staff and online server out of Ukraine due to the current war.
This new patch update doesn’t just include a new multiplayer mode, though, because it will also incorporate six new episodes of the Bizarre Yet Bonafide podcast into the game, one that was a favorite of counselor Ryan. Finally, this patch update will allow players to give the camp counselors new 80s-inspired cosmetics – although it is only for the playable characters.
