Two weeks after it debuted on Netflix, the streamer released more of The Sandman today (August 19). The bonus episode is a two-parter, one of which is animated, and the other is live-action. The former is a story on A Dream of a Thousand Cats, and the latter is of Calliope.

They are joined by Rosie Day (Outlander), David Gyasi (Interstellar), Joe Lycett, Georgia Tennant (Staged), Anna Lundberg (Staged), Nonso Anozie (Sweet Tooth), Diane Morgan (After Life), Tom Wu (The Gentlemen), and the comics creator, Neil Gaiman lending his voice. This episode also marks a return of Gaiman collaborators with Sheen and Tennant starring in Amazon’s adaption of Good Omens, with Sheen and McAvoy voicing the Audible take on The Sandman.
The other part of The Sandman two-parter, Calliope, is led by Sturridge. He is joined by guest stars Melissanthi Mahut (Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey), Arthur Darvill (Doctor Who), Nina Wadia (Aladdin), Souad Faress (Dune), Dinita Gohil (Our House), Kevin Harvey, Amita Suman (The Outpost), and Derek Jacobi (Royals: Keeping the Crown).
Netflix adds a bonus episode to The Sandman
The bonus two-part episode of The Sandman is written by Catharine Smyth-McMullen. It is executive produced by creators Gaiman and David S. Goyer. Showrunner Allan Heinberg also executive produces.
It has been two weeks since The Sandman premiered, and it is still at the top of Netflix. Despite being a mega-hit, the adaption of the popular comics has not been renewed for a second season.
Sturridge leads the series. He is joined by Patton Oswalt, Boyd Holbrook (Narcos), Vivienne Acheampong (The Witches), Mason Alexander Park (Cowboy Bebop), and in her acting debut, Vanesu Samunyai. All episodes of The Sandman are available on Netflix.
