The Secrets of Isis star JoAnna Cameron has passed away at age 70 following complications from a stroke. Her death was confirmed on Monday by her co-star Joanna Pang Atkins, who starred in the DC Comics series, The Secrets of Isis. ‘Sad to post that JoAnna Cameron “The Mighty Isis” has flown to heaven,’ Atkins tweeted along with a picture showing Brian Cutler, their leading man.

During the series, Cameron played a polite archeologist who discovers the priceless Thutmose amulet. Upon wearing it and chanting “Oh mighty Isis,” she transforms into the titular Egyptian goddess who brings humankind back from the brink of extinction.
CBS aired the popular morning show for one year from 1975 to 1976. According to Extra TV, Cameron began her TV career with a then-record-breaking 105 TV commercials.
Born on Sept. 20, 1951, in Vail, Colorado, Cameron made her feature film debut in 1969 with the comedy How to Commit Marriage, in which she starred with Bob Hope, Jackie Gleason, Tina Louise, and Jane Wyman. Angie Dickinson co-starred with her in Roger Vadim’s sexploitation cult film Pretty Maids All in a Row in 1971 after her role in Medical Center, Love, American Style, Name of the Game.
Cameron’s mainstream popularity grew after appearing in episodes of Marcus Welby, M.D. with Robert Young and James Brolin in 1970 and 1972.
Her other notable TV roles include a scene-stealing role as a feminist in the popular TV movie The Great American Beauty Contest with Farrah Fawcett in 1973 and a memorable episode of Columbo with Peter Falk and Dick Van Dyke in 1974. In addition to The Amazing Spider-Man with Nicolas Hammond, Cameron appeared in Switch with Robert Wagner and Eddie Albert.
She retired from acting in 1980 with the aptly titled Swan Song, a TV movie starring David Soul of Starsky & Hutch and Salem’s Lot fame. Aside from directing the 1982 short documentary Blue Angels in Razor Sharp (about the US Navy’s iconic flight demonstration team), Cameron was an assistant camera operator for the 2013 short film Stew. These were her last screen credits but even after this, fans remembered her work in The Secrets of Isis.
In addition to his work on television and in The Secrets of Isis, JoAnna Cameron worked in-home healthcare and in hotel marketing in Hawaii.
