Actor Lance Reddick, known for his roles on The Wire and in the John Wick franchise, has died at the age of 60. Law enforcement officials told TMZ that Reddick’s body was found at his Studio City home Friday morning around 9:30 AM. His cause of death is unknown, although officials say it appears to be from natural causes. Reddick had been busy on a press tour promoting John Wick: Chapter 4. He portrayed the character Charon in all four films. In television, he was best known for playing Cedric Daniels on The Wire. His character appeared in all five seasons of the HBO series. Reddick also Phillip Broyles in Fringe, and Chief Irvin Irving in Bosch. He also had notable roles in TV shows such as Lost, Oz, and Netflix’s Resident Evil.

Actor Lance Reddick Dies in the Middle of ‘John Wick’ Press Tour
Reddick had been quite busy promoting the fourth John Wick movie, and he was scheduled to appear on The Kelly Clarkson Show next week. The Mirror reports that this past Wednesday, Reddick posted a video with his dogs on social media at a time he was due to appear at the John Wick: Chapter 4 premiere in New York City. As of now, it is unclear why Reddick pulled out of attending the event.
Aside from his work in the John Wick franchise, Reddick had roles in movies such as Angel Has Fallen and Godzilla vs. Kong. He also provided voice work to numerous video games. Reddick voiced Martin Hatch in Quantum Break, Sylens in Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West, and Commander Zavala in the Destiny franchise.
Prior to his death, Lance Reddick had completed several projects that he will appear in posthumously. Such projects include White Man Can’t Jump (co-written by black-ish creator Kenya Barris) and a final appearance as Charon in the John Wick spin-off movie Ballerina. He will be also seen as Zeus in the Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
Actor Lance Reddick graduated with a music degree from the University of Rochester and earned an MFA from Yale.
