The Young Avengers return in an all-new story arc for Infinity Comics series Marvel’s Voices. Available exclusively on the Marvel Unlimited app, Marvel’s Voices: Young Avengers #5 comes from creators Anthony Oliveira and Jethro Morales. This story sees a changed team of Young Avengers. After all, each member has been off on their own adventures.
What Are The Young Avengers Up To?
In an exclusive interview with Marvel, writer Anthony Oliveira and artist Jethro Morales share what readers can expect in this new story. For starters, readers will have to familiarize themselves with the young superheroes after long in-between adventures. As such, Oliveira focused on what story each hero needed now and tried to tell that story. This way, the story works for those new to the series. However, fans of the team will also love the story told in this new story.
Meanwhile, Morales shares that the story is an excellent blend of heart and action. As one of the artists for the story, he gave it his all to visually convey the emotions and excitement of the story.
What Does This Project Look Like?
As Oliveira explains, this project consists of six individual character pieces for each member that come together for one big story. This way, the team could focus on what makes each character tick. Meanwhile, the Infinity Comic format really intrigued the writer going into the project. The story’s structure is shaped by the prospect of creating a comic with no page turns. Or, as he puts it,
“What if something wonderful and powerful and terrifying were hurtling ever downward, across space and time, towards a destination as uncertain as it is inevitable?”
Meanwhile, Morales is also intrigued by the Infinity format. Working on a vertical comic is a new concept for the artist and a challenge he faced with excitement.
Elsewhere, the creative duo shared their favorite Young Avengers runs. Oliveira fondly recalls becoming a fan the week that the first Young Avengers run began. Meanwhile, Morales is simply in awe of Hawkeye’s bow and arrow action. However, both men are excited to leave their mark on this iconic Marvel team.
