Image Comics recently announced this year’s edition of their charity fundraising anthology Thought Bubble Anthology 2019, benefiting the United Kingdom (UK) Children’s charity Bernardo’s. Â
The book will feature the work of such creators as Becky Cloonan (writer on Gotham Academy and Southern Cross), Gerry Duggan (Savage Avengers, Wolverine, and many other Marvel books), Abigail Jill Harding (Ask For Mercy and Elephantmen), Lee Garbett (artist on Loki and Lucifer). Kim-Joy (The Great British Bake Off finalist), Pernille Ørum and Luke Pearson (creators of the Netflix show Hilda). They are joined by the talents of Benji Goldsmith, Jock, Daniel Warren Johnson, Tula Lotay, Mildred Louis, and cover artwork by Helen Mingjue Chen.
The Thought Bubble Anthology launched in 2011 and is produced by Image Comics. The indie label is probably best known among the general public these days for publishing The Walking Dead comics of the early 2000s which reawakened zombie fiction as we know it. Among comics fans though, Image is probably better liked as the publisher of Saga, the long-running fantasy book by writer Brian K. Vaughan and artist Fiona Staples. More recent titles include Analog, Rumble, Outer Darkness, Sonata, Sharkey the Bounty Hunter and many others.  Â
Thought Bubble Anthology 2019 will be released on October 8, just ahead of the United Kingdom’s Thought Bubble Festival, which takes place in Yorkshire, Northern England from November 4-10. All profits from this comic go to Barnardo’s, one of the largest children’s charities in the UK. The charity provides assistance for at-risk youth in the UK, including adoption and fostering services, counseling and other services.
Thought Bubble Anthology 2019 is available to be pre-ordered with your local comic shop or purchased across many digital platforms, including the official Image Comics iOS app, Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play.
