The seven-time Super Bowl champion, Tom Brady, is making his first post-retirement move with a football-themed road trip movie project titled 80 for Brady. The project will star four Hollywood legends: Lily Tomlin, Sally Field, Rita Moreno, and Jane Fonda. Kyle Marvin is penned to direct with production due to begin this spring. It is reported to be based on a true story. Paramount’s 80 for Brady will tell the story of four best friends to take a life-changing trip to the 2017 Super Bowl to see their quarterback hero, Tom Brady. Lily Tomlin, Sally Field, Rita Moreno, and Jane Fonda will play the four best friends. Tom Brady retired from football earlier this month and appears will not be slowing down with this new project on the way. Tom Brady’s post-retirement project will be produced by his production company, 199 Productions.
The four legends are no strangers to the silver screen as their careers span over 50 years, each! Rita Moreno starred in movies like Singin’ in the Rain, Jane the Virgin, One Day at a Time, the 1961 and 2021 versions of West Side Story. Sally Field starred in iconic films like Steel Magnolias, Mrs. Doubtfire, Forrest Gump, Lincoln, and The Amazing Spider-Man. Lily Tomlin starred in 9 to 5, The West Wing, The Magic School Bus, and Grace and Frankie. Jane Fonda starred in Barbarella, Klute, 9 to 5, Monster-In-Law, Book Club, and Grace and Frankie. This will be Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin’s second reunion after ending their Netflix show, Grace and Frankie. Grace and Frankie’s seventh and final season will premiere this year. Paramount is hoping to have another comedy-led actress ensemble movie on their hands after having success with Book Club and 1996’s The First Wives Club. There are no details of when Paramount’s 80 for Brady will release in theaters as production is yet to begin.
