The coronavirus is everywhere; it seems. E3 was canceled due to the coronavirus; the NBA has stated that fans shouldn’t attend certain games. Now Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, have confirmed that they have the coronavirus.
Trouble At The Gold Coast
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were at The Gold Coast in Australia for a movie that Hanks is working on. The movie is about Elvis Presley, and Hanks is slated to play Presley’s manager, Colonel Tom Parker. Warner Bros., the studio behind the movie, had already acknowledged that someone associated with the filming had a confirmed case of coronavirus, although they didn’t name names.
WB’s statement reads as follows, “We have been made aware that a company member from our Elvis feature film, which is currently in pre-production in The Gold Coast, Australia, has tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus). We are working closely with the appropriate Australian health agencies to identify and contact anyone who may have come in direct contact with the individual. The health and safety of our company members are always our top priority, and we are taking precautions to protect everyone who works on our productions around the world. The individual who tested positive for COVID-19 is currently receiving treatment.”
Hanks released a tweet earlier today stating that both he and his wife have been tested and found positive for the coronavirus. He states that the symptoms started out mild colds, with body aches and slight fevers. They then went and got tested for the coronavirus and were found positive.
Hanks doesn’t seem too worried at the moment. A portion of his tweet reads, “Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requirements. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?”
Glad to see that Hanks and Wilson have such a positive attitude about the whole situation. Hopefully, they will make a full recovery.
