Throughout the Total War franchise, one of the most popular ways to win the game is by military victory. In each installment, Creative Assembly has been adding to the list of victory conditions and in Total War Thrones of Britannia, a new win mechanic has been added to this list. The new mechanic is called Fame.
Fame can be obtained by improving your faction in Thrones. Players need to construct certain types of buildings, research technologies, or have a good king to increase their Fame points. The fame points that players generate need to accumulate a certain amount depending on each victory level. Creative Assembly hint that high-level buildings and technologies give off bonuses that will make it easier for players to reach a Fame victory.
While announcing the new Fame victory, Creative Assembly also released a new trailer for Total War Thrones of Britannia. This trailer is of Welsh factions. King Anaraut is presented and is seen developing ‘Gwined’ Kingdom. The Welsh factions are better placed to take advantage of a Fame win and they possess a unique faction mechanic called ‘Heroism’. Heroism provides bonuses to their faction leaders’ influence which can provide a Fame bonus to the faction itself. The starting capitals of Gwined and Strat Clut can construct a special Bard building chain which can create more Fame bonuses. Guvan, the Strat Clut capital, can also construct Hogback which is a building chain that adds to increasing players Fame points.
Advanced technologies are another way to get hold of Fame points. Most of them are within the civic section. Creative Assembly hint that unlocking the leadership tech line in the civic section by upgrading your Law building chain, will give additional Fame points.
Total War Thrones of Britannia is released next month, so in the next coming weeks Creative Assembly will be announcing new techniques to the game like the ‘ultimate victory condition’.
