It’s Time to Reload and Have Some Fun in Toy Soldiers: HD for the Switch
Toy Soldiers: HD is the modern port of the classic 2010 title where players control miniatures modeled after World War I. It all takes place on a diorama that has seemingly come to life; tiny, finger-sized soldiers fighting against one another. As so, the game gives you a “toybox” aesthetic to the experience. Players can fight in multiple ways, too. They can take the action to the sky with top-down perspectives replicating real-time strategy games and dogfights; command tower defenses to push back the enemy; approach the frontlines in first-person warfare.
To celebrate the coming of Toy Soldiers: HD for the Nintendo Switch, publisher Accelerate Games have put together a 5-minute gameplay trailer. It basically covers the ground with what you can expect from the port. It all engages in combat in the same way, with only the presentation and features receiving improvements. Be sure to give it a shot while you’re here if you’re thinking of buying a copy when it launches on August 5, 2022.
Toy Soldiers: HD comes with all previous DLC from the original, as well as some new levels for players to explore. It was originally released on Oct 21, 2021, and it is now making its way to the Nintendo crowd. Interested players and eager fans can visit the Nintendo Store page to read more on the updated title from Accelerate Games. Its development comes from Signal Studios (the original developer), Outer Heaven, and Eden Industries.
Do you remember playing Toy Soldiers for any of the original platforms? Or were you more old-school and went with your imagination at home with your own miniatures? We’d love to hear more from you down in the comments!
