The epic story continues! Today, NIS America announced that The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV will finally be launching on the Nintendo Switch! This new port will release April 9, 2021, in North America and on April 16, 2021, for my fellow Oceanians. Also, there will be “Frontline Edition” and “Limited Edition” pre-orders available at select retailers. Please see the official NIS America and The Legend of Heroes websites for more information.
About The Game
Trails of Cold Steel IV takes place immediately after the events of Trails Cold Steel III. The Erebonian Empire is approaching an “all-out war” and it’s up to the brave heroes of Class VII to save the world from destruction. To make matters worse, Class VII’s instructor and Erebonian Civil War hero, Rean Schwarzer, has disappeared. Now, new and old students of Class VII must unite to fight against the Empire’s seemingly inevitable march towards total domination.
Trails of Cold Steel IV – Features
The Ultimate Class Reunion
You can only hope to have a class reunion as awesome as this. Trails of Cold Steel IV boasts “the largest roster in series history.” It features heroes from all over the continent – heroes who are sympathetic to Class VII’s cause. Class VII unites with Crossbell’s Special Support Section and the heroes of Liberl.
Battle Most Refined
The established and polished combat system of The Legend of Heroes series will return but there will also be new and exciting mechanics debuting in the game. You will have the ability to summon giant mechs and utilize Auto Battle. Also, you can use the Lost arts, the most powerful Orbal magic that can turn things to your favor in a snap.
Pursuits of the War Weary
What would an adventure be without those fun times in between deadly battles? Trails of Cold Steel IV will feature mini-games like Vantage Master, fishing, puzzles, poker, blackjack, and even the new Horror Coaster. The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV “Frontline Edition” and “Limited Edition” will be available for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. The “Frontline Edition” will include the game, “The Black Records” art book, a digital soundtrack, and a reverse cover sheet.
The “Limited Edition” includes the “Frontline Edition” of the game, a collector’s box, the official soundtrack, the official art book, a steel book, a cloth poster, and art cards.
Visit The Legends of Heroes or the NIS America page for more information. I love my JRPGs! What are some of your favorites! If you haven’t grabbed Trails of Cold Steel IV yet, will you be picking up the Switch port? Let us know in the comments!
