It is time for more robots and less Michael Bay. Paramount Pictures has delivered the teaser trailer (seen below) for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, the first official look at the upcoming entry of the blockbuster franchise. It is the second live-action entry not to be directed by Bay, who did the previous films up to the Bumblebee.
The story seems similar to what we have seen before, with two humans meeting the Autobots and needing to join forces against an enemy of space robots. This time around, we get introduced to the Beast Wars area of the franchise, with the Maximals and Predacons. For fans, this has been a long time coming to introduce this side of the universe. The Transformers: Rise of the Beasts teaser trailer gives us a look at its cast, which is as enormous as the galactic robots in disguise. The cast includes Michelle Yeoh, Peter Dinklage, Ron Perlman, Pete Davidson, Anthony Ramos (In the Heights), Luna Lauren Velez (Dexter), and more.
The latest film was directed by Steven Caple Jr. (Creed II), who has touched the IP with the animated series Earthspark. Joby Harold (Obi-Wan Kenobi) came up with the story and wrote the screenplay with Darnell Metayer (BMF), Josh Peters (BMF), and Erich and Jon Hoeber (The Meg). Executive producers include Valerii An, David Ellison, Bradley J. Fischer, Dana Goldberg, Brian Goldner, Don Granger, Brian Oliver, and Stephen Spielberg. Producers consist of Bay, Mark Vahradian, Don Murphy, R.J. Mino, Cliff Lanning, Duncan Henderson, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, and Tom DeSanto.
