Two months after being hospitalized and treated for Pancreatitis, Travis Barker has tested positive for Covid-19. The 46-year-old Blink-182 drummer shared the news with his fans on social media on Thursday, August 18.
The music star took to his Instagram story sharing the news. Barker included a snapshot of himself shirtless while holding drumsticks. He mentioned:
“Covid sucks. I’d rather be playing drums.”
The news of Barker being tested positive for Covid-19 came out a week after Machine Gun Kelly, the Bloody Valentine artist, confirmed that the A-list drummer would be joining him on tour. MGK had made the announcement on August 9, via his Instagram story. In essence, thus was against doctor’s orders.
Barker has not publicly addressed Kelly’s claims of him going against medical advice to go on tour with him.
Travis Barker Was Earlier Treated For Pancreatitis
The DTA Record founder took to his Instagram a month ago after being discharged from medical care, sharing his health ordeal. He relayed how how he went in for an Endoscopy feeling great and after dinner that day, he felt excruciating pain. Things quickly escalated such that he ended up at the hospital.
He explained how during the endoscopy he had a very small polyp removed right in a very sensitive area. According to him, this unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube.
That sadly led to life-threatening pancreatitis, but Barker expressed how grateful he was for the intensive care as he is “currently much better.” Amid the health issues, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s have put up a united front.
Kourtney has been very supportive of Travis Barker prior to his Covid-19 diagnosis. The The Kardashians star had been on tour with him following his hospital stint. A source exclusively told Us Weekly earlier this month that Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker are stronger than ever. This comes after the latter’s health scare, as the time at the hospital brought them even closer.
