Treyarch has been one of the pioneers of the Zombies franchise for Call of Duty. We can’t forget about Black Ops 1 through 3 and its selection of Zombies expansions. But all in all, Ranked MP was something Treyarch was good at, but it appears Infinity Ward has the keys to it all for Modern Warfare 2, as Treyarch isn’t involved with MW2’s Ranked Multiplayer.
Treyarch Responds – Isn’t Responsible for MW2 Ranked Multiplayer
It was on March 25 that CharlieIntel shared that a Redditor D75H asked Treyarch to change up Ranked Multiplayer for MW2. To the surprise of the fan, Treyarch responded, but it wasn’t what they were expecting:
” Just to set expectations for this kind of request and others like it, we’re ultimately not responsible for core gameplay mechanics in Modern Warfare II. This kind of feedback is better shared with Infinity Ward for Multiplayer.” – TreyarchCM
Although Infinity Ward set the stepping stones for some good gameplay, campaign, and decent Multiplayer, it isn’t the case anymore. We’ve seen how they’ve treated the previous entries into the franchise. Modern Warfare 2019 is currently unplayable due to the janky live-service model. Players can’t get into MW2019’s campaign ever since IW moved to Cold War.
IW isn’t looking at adding Shipment 24/7 to Modern Warfare 2 anytime soon, either. The community is outraged, and Infinity Ward just doesn’t seem to budge. With Treyarch out of the picture for MW2’s Ranked Multiplayer, it seems fans will have to scream into a void or a brick wall, and they’d have better chances of getting a response. Infinity Ward was a COD pioneer, but they fail to live out their reputation with MW2 these days.
