The Grass-Type Pokémon Tsareena has been officially revealed to be joining Pokémon Unite as the game’s next playable character, according to an official Tweet by Serebii, and will be available on December 9. There is also a special campaign planned in which players will be able to obtain the Unite License for Tsareena simply by logging into the game, though the length of this event window is currently unknown.

The addition of Tsareena will bring the current roster of playable characters in Pokémon Unite from 27 to 28 upon reveal. The official list of playable fighters will now include Greedent, Sylveon, Mamoswine, Blastoise, Blissey, Gardevoir, Zeraora, Pikachu, Charizard, Snorlax, Crustyle, Greninja, Eldegoss, Talonflame, Lucario, Venusaur, Mr. Mine, Slowbro, Absol, Machamp, Wigglytuff, Alolan Ninetails, Cramorant, Gengar, Carchomp, and Cinderace, and Decidueye.
The Pokémon Company also described Tsareena as a “powerful All-Rounder that will dance around the competition” in the description of the official YouTube video. Tsareena’s reveal was previously teased via a data mine leak conducted by Sobble’s Unite Datamine via Twitter, which revealed the previously mentioned revealed for the Grass-type Pokémon as December 9 and provided details on the free campaign event via a promotional image.
Decidueye was previously the most recent new character to Pokémon Unite on November 19, following the reveal of Greedent on October 18 as part of the Halloween Festival event held from October 20 to November 7.
The most recent event for Pokémon Unite is the second battle pass – titled Sun, Sun, Sunshine – which brings a variety of new Holowear and features for players to enjoy, including chic new fashion items for Trainer avatars and 90 levels with unique missions and corresponding rewards for players to complete in. You can still participate in up to three missions per day to obtain battle pass points with the weekly and seasonal missions held to unlock new rewards.
