If you grew up during the ’80s or ’90s, you probably remember the popular Turok franchise. Turok: Dinosaur Hunter originally released on the Nintendo 64 back in 1997. The game franchise would go on to six variations but never would be as successful as it was while on the Nintendo 64. Many still feel nostalgic about the franchise despite it being overshadowed by the Jurassic Park franchise. In 2018, a remastered version of Turok was released on the Xbox One. In 2019, the same remastered version was released for the Nintendo Switch; it now seems like it’s the PlayStation 4’s turn with the Turok Dinosaur Hunter Remastered.
Earlier this week, a listing was spotted revealing that Turok was heading to the PlayStation 4. The listing has now been confirmed by the official trophy list being unveiled due to EXOPHASE. For those who are unaware, Exophase is an achievement and trophy tracking website; it checks Microsoft, Sony, and other platform’s servers regularly for any achievement updates. Night Dive Studios has yet to confirm the game’s PS4 release but it could only be a matter of days.
The original Turok: Dinosaur Hunter was developed by now- closed Iguana Entertainment; it was published by the former Acclaim Entertainment. The game has come a long way since its release on the Nintendo 64. Hopefully, the PlayStation 4 release signals the release of a much-awaited sequel.
