Fans of Transformers, especially those that enjoyed IDW Publishing’s comic book run, should take note at the latest news from Bandai Namco Collectibles. Running under the Bluefin banner in the west, the company has announced two new Furai model kits based on the ever-popular Transformers series.
The official rundown for both is as follows:
Flame Toys Skywarp Furai Model Kit
The 9th Transformers FURAI MODEL kit presents Skywarp. Standing 6 inches tall, this modernized depiction of the Decepticon Seeker features realistic articulation with over 50 movable joints. The kit is made of hard plastic ABS & PS, which makes it ideal for expert builders to add their own custom paint. With different injection colors of runner parts and simple assembly design, this is also a kit that is great for beginners and experts alike.
Flame Toys Drift Furai Model Kit
The long-awaited 10th FURAI MODEL arrives with the release of Drift. Standing 6.1 inches, this new and excited model depicts the Autobot Drift as he is seen in the beloved IDW Transformers comic book series. Drift features over 50 points of articulation and can assume any pose with ease. The model is constructed from ABS and PS plastic which can be easily custom painted. The joints are rendered in soft plastic for stable, movable performance. Model parts come color molded so no painting is required making this model kit ideal for beginners and experts alike.
Both kits are available in December and can be pre-ordered from Bluefin if you’re interested. The Skywarp kit will retail at $38, whereas the Drift kit will cost $50, so make sure to chose wisely.
Collectibles are always great to have and having to make them adds an extra level of satisfaction to any collection. Looking good enough as they are, I look forward to seeing how great they can look when talented fans decide to paint the kits.
Don’t worry if you’re not a dab hand with the paintbrush though as both kits look great without paint and feature easy snap-together assembly, meaning they are accessible to most people. I like both kits and could see them being a nice entry point for people looking to make a start in Gundam style models.
Let us know in the comments if you’re planning on getting either of these and if you have any other model kits that you’ve expertly painted, we’d love to see them over on our Twitter page.
