Tyler Perry has just closed a four-movie deal with Amazon Studios. He will write, produce, and direct feature films. The films will reach 240 countries and territories worldwide via Prime Video. Perry spoke about the four-movie deal with Amazon Studios, saying, “I’m excited and grateful to start working with Amazon Studios to bring movies to Prime Video.” The head of Amazon Studios Jennifer Salke has expressed their excitement for Perry to bring his brand of storytelling to the studio. His most recent film was A Jazzman’s Blues, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in September. He continued with his Madea franchise with the film A Madea Homecoming. It was the 12th film in the franchise, Perry wrote, directed, and exec produced it. The Lionsgate film A Madea Family Funeral earned $75.8 million globally. Perry has found incredible success with the film and series he’s created.
