Video game development can never be an easy process, and setting a date doesn’t always work out. It’s a troubling process, marred with many difficulties over time. As longer and drawn-out expenses begin to accrue, some even never see release from their initial conception. Yet, many have questioned whether or not Ubisoft will deliver on their most infamous unreleased title. Skull & Bones promise to be a pirate experience like none other, and Ubisoft has been keen on repeating it. Despite time after time, news of staff members leaving the development team made fans worry for the title’s future. Despite this, Ubisoft’s latest earnings report made mention to a few of their upcoming games set to launch either this year or early next year. Among those games is Skull & Bones, which according to Ubisoft’s earnings report, should see release by April 2023.
Ubisoft has confirmed it plans to release the following games between April 2022 – April 2023:
– Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
– Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope
– Skull & Bones
– "More Exciting Games"— Geoff Keighley (@geoffkeighley) February 17, 2022
When Does Ubisoft Plan For Skull & Bones To Release?
While the exact wording has been vital, Ubisoft expects Skull & Bones to release within the next fiscal year, which of the course comprises over 12 months starting in April 2022. While this doesn’t reveal any release dates, it does give us some insights. Predictions of these upcoming releases are more than likely easier to place on a timeline now, with the report making mention of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope. With other “exciting games” also set to release, Ubisoft is planning for a big year, which is well needed after the current year. Despite this having played out in the past, these past few years of silence surely have some merit to it. Fans can only hope to receive a polished product as the release date grows closer.
