Ubisoft, the publisher behind games like Assassin’s Creed and Rayman series, has officially pulled out of E3 2023. Despite previously intending to attend the convention, the company has decided to head in its own direction and host an Ubisoft Forward Live event instead. This event will function similarly to their E3 presentation, revealing various new games and information on their projects.
When Is E3 2023 Taking Place
E3 2023 will take place in June, around 3 months from now, at their usual location, the Los Angeles Convention Center. The event is being run by the company ReedPop, who have also run events like PAX East and West, Star Wars Celebration and NYCC. Last year, though E3 was planned as an in-person event, the convention was cancelled due to Covid-19 related concerns. E3 2023 is an extremely important return for the convention, as it will be the first in-person E3 since 2019. Whether the event will continue in the future may rely on this convention.
What Ubisoft Pulling Out Means For E3
Currently E3 is lacking the presence of many major companies coming to the event. Both Nintendo and Microsoft have both confirmed that they will be passing on E3 2023. Xbox, on the other hand, will be holding their own event called the Xbox Games Showcase. However, despite not appearing on the show floor, they will also be co-streaming E3 2023. Sony, and its PlayStation Studios will also not be taking place in the event. With the “Big 3” gaming companies missing from the show line-up, E3 still promises to have both AAA and Indie game representation.
The Hype starts now. 👀#E32023 will take place in person from June 13-16 in the Los Angeles Convention Center with separated business and consumer days and areas.
