It has been announced that Uma Thurman is slated to star as the President of the United States in the upcoming rom-com series Red, White & Royal Blue, based on a novel by the same name. Thurman will be going to the cast of Red, White & Royal Blue, which already includes Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine, among others, for this upcoming Amazon Prime Video film.
The novel Red, White & Royal Blue, written by Casey McQuiston and published in 2019, follows the story of Alex Claremont-Diaz, played by Perez after his mother is elected President of the United States. Alex is young, charming, and suave, marking him down as prime marketing material for the presidential staff and the press alike, but there’s one giant problem with this plan: Alex’s ongoing feud with the Prince of Wales, Prince Henry (Galitzine). Following a public relations disaster, the president’s advisors plan to stage a truce between the two; however, the pair’s relationship, described by the book’s official synopsis as “a fake, Instragramable friendship,” soon develops into something deeper, threatening the public relations between their two nations and forcing Alex and Henry to decide what they hold most important.
Who is Uma Thurman in “Red, White & Royal Blue”?

Along with Thurman, Perez, and Galitzine, additional cast members reportedly include Clifton Collins Jr., Stephen Fry, Sarah Shahi, Rachel Hilson, Ellie Bamber, Aneesh Sheth, Polo Morin, Ahmed Elhaj, and Akshay Khanna, whose roles have not yet been announced. Regarding Uma Thurman’s casting, show director Matthew López (The Newsroom) told Deadline:
“I am overjoyed that Uma will be joining us to play President Claremont…Her intelligence, warmth, and humor are a perfect match for Casey’s iconic character. I cannot wait to be on our Oval Office set with her.”
