Aside from PlayStation fans, some PC gamers like me also tuned in to today’s PlayStation Showcase, waiting for which exclusive Sony will be bringing to its PC neighbor. Well, Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Naughty Dog announced that Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection remaster bundle will be the one coming to both PC and PS5 this time. Containing Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and The Lost Legacy, it will be released on the PS5 sometime in “early 2022.” Meanwhile, the PC version, developed by Iron Galaxy, will follow “shortly after” although a release window wasn’t specified.
In case you forgot the plot of both games, here’s a refresher. In Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Nathan Drake’s normal life with his wife Elena was cut short when he was persuaded by his presumed-dead brother Samuel out of retirement. The brothers, along with Nathan’s long-time friend and mentor Victor Sullivan, embarks on one more voyage into the jungles of Madagascar and the pirate colony of Libertalia in search of Captain Avery’s long-lost riches. The game was first released in 2016, acclaimed by fans and critics alike.
And in the standalone expansion Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, released in 2017, we follow the exploit of Chloe Frazer, who travels to the Western Ghats mountain ranges of India to seek an artifact known as the Tusk of Ganesh. With the help of ex-mercenary Nadine Ross, they have to also prevent a ruthless warlord and his insurgents from igniting a civil war in the country.
Early this month, we reported a rumor about a PC port of an Uncharted remaster bundle, but the leak didn’t mention a PS5 version and how many games it will contain. With this official announcement though, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and The Lost Legacy are now joining a handful of other PlayStation exclusives such as Days Gone, Predator: Hunting Grounds, and Horizon Zero Dawn on PC. It’s disappointing news for FromSoftware and Bloodborne fans, but hopefully, there’s still next time. Are you excited about this remaster? Which game are you hoping to get a PC port next year?
