V Rising: Where to Find Whetstones

V Rising is a vampire survival game recently released through Early Access on Steam. Your objective is to survive as long as possible while completing missions. You can also build a base, which houses numerous, useful structures to help you survive. One of the many resources you’ll need early on for your equipment and to build your base is Whetstones. This guide will provide information about where to find Whetstones and how to craft them in V Rising.

Where to Find Whetstones in V Rising

As you travel around the map in V Rising, you’ll occasionally encounter Bandit armories, encampments and strongholds. These camps are marked on your map as yellow-shaded areas in various locations, including early game regions. Additionally, if you mouse over these areas, you’ll find a description of the camp and a list of important loot that you may encounter. Whetstones will often appear among this list of loot. You’ll find them both as box and chest loot and drops from defeated enemies.

How to Craft Whetstones in V Rising

If you’d prefer to craft your Whetstones over venturing around to look for them, make sure you have the following resources beforehand:

Furnace
Copper Ingot x1
Stone Dust x12

One of the more challenging parts is getting the crafting recipe. After defeating Grayson the Armoror in the Bandit Armory, you’ll obtain the crafting recipe. However, before tackling this boss fight, be sure to raise your level to at least 27 or higher to be safe. After getting the recipe, you’ll need a furnace to craft the Whetstone using your copper ingot and stone dust. Once you have both resources, toss them into your furnace and wait for them to turn into Whetstones.
