In Valheim, workbenches are the center of every base you build and the foundation of every session you play so knowing your way around them is quite important when it comes to progress. A workbench is equivalent to laying your roots when you build your first one and you’ll find yourself returning to it frequently as it should stand as your strongest beacon, or, at the very least, be a reminder of your humble beginnings. Whatever the case, you’re going to need to know how to upgrade it if you’re going to want to move forward and we have just the guide for you so you can upgrade your workbench.
How to Upgrade Your Workbench
Upgrading a workbench is a rather straightforward process, thankfully, as you’ll really only need to note that you’ll need to place certain items nearby in order to perform the upgrade. As such, we’ll provide you with help in regards to what you’ll need for each workbench upgrade as well as what you’ll need in order to get those items you’ll need to place. Once you’ve placed the necessary stations nearby to your workbench, its level will automatically increase so long as it’s within range, so the focus is more on preparing the needed stations and keeping them close, creating a kind of crafting workstation, which is always nice.
- Level 2: Chopping Block (Wood x10, Flint x10)
- Level 3: Tanning Rack (Wood x10, Flint x15, Leather Scraps x20, Deer Hide x5)
- Level 4: Adze (Fine Wood x10, Bronze x3)
- Level 5: Tool Shelf (Iron x4, Fine Wood x1, Obsidian x4)
Upgrading your workbench will get you into so many things that you need that are vital to succeeding in Valheim, such as better weapons and armor, so try to keep in mind that you will want to stay on top of keeping your workbench up to date when and if you can.
