There are a number of new options introduced to the Valheim Hearth and Home update, one of which being the Stone Oven cooking station. This is a station that can provide you with new types of food for your excursions into the world such as Lox Meat Pies, so it is definitely something that you are going to want to get your hands on. This guide will show you how to get and use the oven in Valheim.
How To Get & Use The Oven in Valheim
If you want to make an oven a fixture in your home, then you are going to need to build it. This of course means you are going to need to get the appropriate supplies. Before doing that, make sure you are able to build an artisan table as it is also needed to create the oven. To build an artisan table, you need to kill the Mountain Biome boss, Moder. With that done, time for some gathering. The stone oven requires 15 Iron, 20 Stone, and four Surtling Cores. For the iron, head to Valheim‘s Swamp Crypts. You will need to kill The Elder to get the key to this location, but once you get there, destroy the piles found at the Crypts and take them back to your smelter to break down into iron. You can get the stone pretty easily by mining it from rocks with a pickaxe. You can find Surtling Cores by exploring the Black Forest and by killing Surtlings found in the Swamp Biome.
Once you have all the materials, take them to your artisan table and build the stone oven anywhere you want in the range of the table. Once you’ve done that, the stone oven will have been made. To use it, you have to bring the ingredients for what you want to make as well as wood to burn and cook it. The furnace can hold up to 20 wood at a time. You can make bread by putting Bread Dough in the furnace or you can make a Lox Meat Pie by putting in two Cloudberries, two Lox Meat, and four Barley Flour. Now you got yourself an oven and even some recipes, so get to cooking!
Valheim is out now for PC via Steam.
