Completing Battle Pass challenges, increasing one’s Ranked MMR, and winning matches are components of the heart of the Valorant experience, but these activities are not possible if the queue is disabled for Competitive Mode. When attempting to queue in PvP matches, many players are currently encountering the notification, “Queue is disabled.” Of course, this would not be an issue if there were other side activities or content to engage with. However, As a purely PvP-focused live service title, Valorant not allowing players to queue for matches causes any player progression or engagement to come to a complete halt while players await for the error to be resolved.
Why Is the Competitive Queue Disabled in Valorant
“Queue is disabled” is an error in Valorant that also occurred on August 11 and March 24 of this year, causing players to be locked out of playing Ranked PvP matches with the online community. Typically, the game’s official Twitter releases an announcement, letting everyone know that the developers are addressing issues with the game’s current version.

However, this iteration of maintenance in October 2022 does not seem to have received the attention that previous ones had. Of course, disabled queues in Valorant‘s Competitive Mode are not something that will last forever, but it can be an annoyance for gamers who had planned to play the game around the time the error began. According to Twinfinite, this queue problem likely came about due to Patch 5.07 being implemented into the game’s servers. Typically, these maintenance sessions occur at specific times, depending on the region, but the time will vary depending on one’s region. Nevertheless, the Competitive Mode’s downtime is temporary and should not last more than a few hours.Â
To conclude, if Valorant fans ever encounter the “Queue is disabled” error for Competitive in the game again, the only thing they do is wait for the maintenance to be completed. Restarting the game or tinkering with one’s firewall will not do anything since the issue is server-side and not related to the client. In other words, patience is key when dealing with any server down-time dilemmas that Valorant might have in the present and future.Â
