One of the most unique and unconventional characters in Vampire Survivors is Peppino, a playable tree. This tree starts every match with +20 Max Health, +2 Armor, -60% Area, +100% Magnet, and -100% MoveSpeed, making it one of the slowest characters in the game. However, the purpose of playing Peppino is not for mobility but instead to remain firmly rooted in place and defend against enemies. This might seem counterproductive due to the Vampire Survivors secret character‘s innate -60% Area; however, this drawback is offset by its starting weapon, Soul Eater, and passive ability to gain an additional +10% Area at specific level intervals.
Unlocking Peppino in Vampire Survivors
Unlocking Peppino in Vampire Survivors is fairly straightforward and easy to complete. Enter Il Molise and use Celestial Dusting to heal the plant mobs in the zone for 100,000 HP. Once this accomplishment has been fulfilled, a character-unlock jingle noise will trigger, indicating that Peppino has become purchasable in the Character Selection menu.

Il Molise is the first Bonus Stage in Vampire Survivors and can be accessed by unlocking Hyper Mode for any Normal Stage. Those familiar with the gameplay should already know that Hyper Mode for a Stage becomes available once players have defeated the special boss that appears at the 25-minute mark. For example, the Giant Blue Venus will spawn at 25 minutes in the Mad Forest. Accordingly, defeating this enemy will grant the protagonist access to Mad Forest’s Hyper Mode and the Bonus Stage, Il Molise. Once Il Molise is accessible, the next step is to play the Stage with a weapon known as Celestial Dusting. This weapon shoots flowers that bounce off of walls and objects and is able to pierce through an unlimited number of enemies.
While it is possible to get Celestial Dusting with any character in Vampire Survivors, the easiest way to get this weapon is by using O’Sole Meeo. O’Sole’s starting weapon is Celestial Dusting and does not take damage from the plants in Il Molise, making it the best character to use for unlocking Peppino in Vampire Survivors. O’Sole becomes playable after players kill a total of 3,000 Dragon Shrimps, an enemy mob exclusive to the Stage, Gallo Tower. Enter Il Molise with O’Sole and begin using Celestial Dusting to heal the plants and flowers around the map. Once 100,000 points of health have been given to the Stage’s plants, players will unlock Peppino.
Vampire Survivors is available for Early Access on PC via Steam.
