Sonic the hedgehog’s 3D repertoire has a murky history, but Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 have long been among the more popular entries in the lineup. Part of that fondness for the Adventure series comes from the beloved soundtracks. This winter, Sonic fans will have a new way to commemorate these nostalgic sounds from their gaming past.
In an announcement on Monday, award-winning label Brave Wave Productions revealed a partnership with SEGA to create vinyl collections of the music from Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2. Each game’s vinyl collection will include two LP records with more than 20 songs chosen by Sonic Adventure series Lead Composer and Sound Director Jun Senoue.
Iconic songs like “It Doesn’t Matter” and “Live & Learn” expertly capture the pace and tone of the Adventure series gameplay. Now they join dozens of memorable character themes and level tunes to grace these double-LP collections.
Brave Wave‘s announcement stated both vinyl sets will be available “this Winter.” No further information on release dates or preorders has been provided, though Brave Wave assures that these matters will be addressed soon.
The first-press versions of these collections will be colored to fit the design of the games, with the Sonic Adventure collection sporting blue and white while the Sonic Adventure 2 collection rocking blue and red. Further pressings will be standard black. Every version will include other goodies like interviews with Senoue and others, liner notes, lyrics, and character art.

Brave Wave Productions is proud to announce a new partnership with SEGA that will see the releases of the iconic SONIC ADVENTURE and SONIC ADVENTURE 2 soundtracks on vinyl for the first time this winter. Both double-LP collections will feature music hand-picked by Sonicseries composer Jun Senoue, be completely remastered for vinyl, come in special edition first-print color variants, and include an extensive booklet filled with artwork and interviews with Senoue and Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka. It revolutionized the Sonic franchise and included the main theme, “Open Your Heart,” composed by Senoue and Fumie Kumatani and sung by Crush 40. SONIC ADVENTURE 2Â followed in June 2001, introducing Shadow the Hedgehog as Sonic’s rival and featuring the classic song, “Escape From The City… for City Escape,” composed by Senoue with vocals sung by Ted Poley.
