Everyone’s favorite villain-turned-purveyor of zany microgames is back in WarioWare: Get It Together, Nintendo announced today as part of its E3 Direct showcase. True to the spirit of the series, the last entry of which was last seen on 3DS, Wario dabbles once again in the world of game development to extract himself from yet another ill-fated business scheme. As it stands, WarioWare: Get It Together releases later this year.
Nintendo concocted a trailer to mark the announcement, brimming with curiously bizarre microgames. These range from yanking hairs from the armpits of a marble Adonis to deftly avoiding a barrage of pigeon droppings by way of depriving a young man of his six-scoop ice cream. Of course, this is only the tip of the microgame iceberg, with over 200 lightning-fast games planned for the full WarioWare: Get It Together release. The WarioWare: Get It Together announcement trailer is well worth watching. You can view it just below.
WarioWare: Get It Together Brings Two-Player Co-Op to the Series
In a reasonably major deviation from previous entries in the series, players control Wario and members of his colorful entourage to interact directly, and work through, the microgames. As Nintendo explains:
Use their distinctly absurd abilities to take on a rush of microgames. Tip a turtle with the help of Wario’s dash or choose Ashley and hurl a spell at it. In WarioWare: Get It Together, mix and match characters and microgames for maximum fun!”
A benefit of this control switch up and a first for the series – WarioWare: Get It Together also introduces two-player co-op alongside solo play. Additionally, you can jump in either on the same Nintendo Switch or via local wireless with a pair of systems.
Best of all, fans don’t have long to wait at all as WarioWare: Get It Together releases for the Nintendo Switch in just three short months on September 10, 2021. Finally, pre-orders priced at a cool $50 are open over on the Nintendo website for those ready to part with their money early.
