A Call of Duty: Warzone 2 player recently posted a clip on Reddit showcasing they’re losing a near-ending match due to Gas Mask mechanics. Gas Mask has been causing problems since 2020’s Warzone, and the developers are aware of that. At this point, some critical changes were made to the equipment in August, and it seems that it has yet to arrive in Warzone 2, which was released last week.
The Gas Mask is a piece of equipment found in the Battle Royale game mode of Warzone, Warzone 2, and Warzone Mobile. Once equipped, it will allow the player to survive in the gas for 10 seconds without taking damage. The Gas Mask is dropped upon death. However, in the clip shared on Reddit, the player seems to be in a fight. When the gas moves in, he leaps from the ledge and tries to cancel his parachute and re-open it. At one point, due to the gas mask animation being activated, he cannot reopen the parachute and falls to the ground hard, and dies.
As mentioned above, this Gas Mask issue was fixed in 2020’s Warzone in August, and the priority of the gas mask animation was adjusted again. In this way, players can reopen their parachutes. However, it seems to have this is not in Warzone 2 for now, and players will have to deal with this problem for a while.
If you would like to try this out for yourself, Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
