Going on a flight should be a peaceful experience. You might enjoy watching the sky if you have a window seat. You can read a book for example. Another option is to get some sleep until you reach your destination. This is what one Washington woman did as she was on a flight from Charlotte, North Carolina to Los Angeles, California. The flight was on the 15th of March and it was through American Airlines. It was after the flight that the Washington woman realized there was a braid in her hair. Apparently, the person sitting behind her on the plane was crazy enough to braid her hair while she was sleeping. Many found the situation funny, while others believed it to be terrifying which is the truth.
In the video, the Washington woman explains that she sleeps heavily while on flights. So waking up might not be the easiest thing. She was sitting in seat 22F and the person behind her, who braided her hair, was sitting in seat 23F. It was only later that evening that she realized that there was a braid in her hair. She added a screenshot to the video that showed a conversation between her and someone else where she was telling them about what happened. The Washington woman also sent in this chat a picture of the braid she was talking about.
The Terrifying Details Behind the Washington Woman’s Story
After saying that she “hibernates” while on flights instead of sleeping, she reveals that what woke her up was the sound of someone taking pictures. She didn’t think much about it even though the sound was near her ear. Not to mention that the blind shades in the seats in front of her and behind her were down. Unfortunately for the Washington woman, she realized after the flight while at her Airbnb the horrifying fact that the person behind her was taking pictures of the braid they made.
You might think that maybe the braid was already there since the Washington woman said it was a wig she bought from TikTok shop. However, she quickly debunks that. She says that it was “impossible” that a braid was already there because she washed the wig before going on the trip. If the braid was there, she surely would have noticed.
Washington Woman’s Message to the Person Who Braided Her Hair
After revealing the details about what happened, she asks the person who did this, in hopes of them watching the video, “why did you do that?” She also adds that she was “deeply disturbed” which is understandable. The Washington woman then says, “Come forward. We need to talk.” Not only did the person braid her hair, but they also braided it tight enough for her to need to use a comb to take it out. As the video nears its end, she says:
“I don’t know why you did that. I just need you to come forward and discuss why you thought it was okay to braid a woman’s hair while she was asleep.”
The Washington woman then finishes the video by saying, “don’t touch people’s head or people why they’re asleep. It’s weird and it’s creepy. Don’t touch people in general that you don’t know.”
People’s Reactions to the Video
After the video was posted, it went viral as thousands of people left comments. Many TikTok users, unfortunately, thought that this was funny rather than disturbing. There are even several comments saying “the midnight barber.” One person even wrote, “god forbid men have hobbies.” Another person joked and said, “American Hairlines.” Someone also commented on the fact that the braid was too tight. “The audacity of the braid being extremely tight too,” they wrote. Another explained that “he must’ve been so bored.” I don’t know about you, but what happened to reading a book on a plane when you got bored? When did we change this activity to braiding people’s hair instead?
On the other hand, some people treated this situation seriously. “This is so invasive and yet so funny but I’m sorry that happened to you,” one person wrote. Another TikTok user pointed out that people shouldn’t be laughing about such a matter. “Everybody laughing but this actually weird asf. Very much psycho behavior,” they said. The Washington woman then replied to this comment and said, “Very alarming. Initially I was very weirded out.” The replies kept going as another woman described the whole situation as “assault.” One person talked about boundaries as well. “That is absolutely insane. Are we not respecting boundaries anymore??” they wrote. I honestly hope that the Washington woman is okay after going through this. It is, as one person wrote, a unique experience.
