According to a report from Deadline, a popular actor will be returning to The CW’s superhero universe for a milestone achievement: the Legends of Tomorrow 100th episode. As many fans would expect, Wentworth Miller will be reprising his role as Leonard Snart/Captain Cold.
Miller first appeared in The CW’s Arrowverse back in 2014 on The Flash. He provided several challenges for the titular hero across numerous episodes, quickly making him a fan favorite. Later on, when the idea of a super team series came about, Wentworth Miller’s Captain Cold was naturally one of the top choices. Joining him as a recurring cast member on the series was his former Prison Break castmate, Dominic Purcell. Purcell played and still plays the part of Captain Cold’s partner in crime, Heat Wave.
Although the Legends of Tomorrow 100th episode is part of the upcoming seventh season, Wentworth Miller was only a recurring cast member for the first two seasons. During that time, audiences watched as Captain Cold grew from a cold-hearted criminal to a somewhat reformed man who resembled something closer to a hero. Ultimately, Miller’s time on the show ended after his character sacrificed himself to stop the Time Masters.
The Legends of Tomorrow 100th episode is scheduled to air on The CW on October 27, 2021. It will reportedly revisit the series’ past, which gives plenty of reason for Wentworth Miller’s return. The Legends of Tomorrow 100th episode will also be directed by the series’ most consistent lead actor, Caity Lotz. Lotz joined the Arrowverse back in 2013 on the show that started it all, Arrow. The other stars joining the celebration include the current cast: Matt Ryan, Tala Ashe, Jes Macallan, Olivia Swann, Adam Tsekhman, Shayan Sobhian, Lisseth Chavez, with Nick Zano, and Dominic Purcell.
