Naturally, there are other pieces of Evidence that must be uncovered as well, but figuring out the temperature of a room is an essential step for ghosting hunting in Phasmophobia.

How to Determine Freezing Temperatures in Phasmophobia

You have two primary indications to determine if a room or location has freezing temperatures in Phasmophobia. The first involves seeing your breath or exhalations as white clouds in the air, indicating your position’s location is notably cold. Next, you will need to procure a Thermometer for $30.

How to Complete the Apocalypse Challenge in Phasmophobia

According to sources at the Phasmopedia Wiki, Phasmophobia players will be able to see their breath when the freezing temperatures have reached below 0°C or 32°F. This measurement should be visible on the Thermometers collected from the van at the start of a Contract. More specifically, you will need to equip the Thermometer before leaving the map starting point and go to where you believe the ghost to be residing. If the Thermometer displays a degree number of 0°C, 32°F, or lower, then you are likely standing in the ghost’s room. The Wiki also states that weather can also cause slight increases in freezing temperatures in Phasmophobia. For instance, the degree reading might not be 32°F, but if it is lower than 42.6°F during “Sunrise” weather, then the cold temperatures can be confirmed.

In other words, it is possible that the room in which the ghost is hiding is not exactly at the freezing point of water. Suppose the Thermometer’s reading is significantly lower than the norm, especially when comparing its readings to other rooms within a building. In that case, it is safe to say that you can confirm the location has freezing temperatures.
