When is the Release Date for Silent Hill F? Answered

This October, Konami finally broke the silence on the whole Silent Hill series’ fate. Through the Silent Hill Transmission livestream event held on October 20, the Japanese company revealed that it is currently working with various partners for three brand new games, a Silent Hill 2 remake, and the Return to Silent Hill theatrical movie. One of the titles being developed is called Silent Hill F, and gamers all over the world are now combing the internet for its release date and launch schedule.

At the time of writing, unfortunately, Konami has not announced when the game will be released. It is not surprising since the only lead we have right now is a cryptic two minutes long CGI trailer. However, considering some things, such as the game development cycle and the lack of any in-game footage in the trailer, I predict the game will be out sometime in 2024. Maybe late 2023 if we are lucky. We’ll update this article once more information is known.

The company also has yet to say which platforms the game will be launched on, but over on the official Silent Hill web page credits, there are the only mention of Sony and the PlayStation console as well as Valve Corporation and Steam; which might indicate that Silent Hill F is only going to be launched on PlayStation and PC via Steam.

Silent Hill F‘s story is set in a “beautiful, yet horrifying world” in 1960s Japan with tons of flower motifs and might cast a female high school student as its main character (…could there be a clue regarding the two “f”s?). This could be a rather huge departure taking into account that ever since the series debut, it always uses fictional small American towns as its background.

It’s written by Ryukishi07, a Japanese writer known for their work on Higurashi When They Cry and Umineko When They Cry horror-mystery visual novel series. Popular Japanese illustrator Kera (Lord of Vermillion, Legend of Monsters) is acting as the character and creature designer, while Motoi Okamoto — an ex-Nintendo staff who had his hands on Luigi’s Mansion — is the producer. The game itself is being developed by the Taiwan-based NeoBards Entertainment, which made Resident Evil Re: Verse and Resident Evil Resistance.
