Pokémon Scarlet and Violet feature common evolutionary items to find, like Dawn Stones. Without them, you won’t be able to evolve specific Pokémon companions. You’re in luck, though, as they aren’t difficult to find. In fact, you can check out multiple areas in Paldea for them. Our guide will show you everywhere you can look to find Dawn Stones.
Find Dawn Stones in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Dawn Stones are among the numerous evolution items. In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you will use them to evolve the following Pokémon:
- Kirlia to Gallade
- Snorunt to Froslass
Also, a Dawn Stone is gender-dependent. For example, you can only use it on a male Kirlia for the evolution to work. But we have to first find Dawn Stones in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Thankfully, there are two permanent areas where Dawn Stones spawn:
- East Province (Area Three)
- West Province (Area Three)
In East Province (Area Three), the Dawn Stone is found in a fixed location. Head to the Levincia (North) Pokémon Center. From here, take a dirt path north toward the river. Finally, go east toward the sea. There are plenty of Poké Balls in the area. It helps just to pick them all up to find the Dawn Stone in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. The image below shows where you need to be:
Now, in West Province (Area Three), go to the Medali (West) Pokémon Center. Head northwest and go up the hill. You’ll notice small ruins. Behind a broken wall, the Dawn Stone is there in a Poké Ball. Check the image below for a visual reference:

For those who don’t want to venture into the wild to find Dawn Stones, you can always buy them instead. For this to happen, go to the Auction House in Porto Marinda. Before you can bid on auctions, you must complete the Gym Test at the Cascarrafa Gym.
When inside the Auction House, check the speech bubbles. Once one of them mentions Dawn Stones, head to them and start bidding. There is no one set price. Instead, just outbid the NPCs.
Note that this isn’t a feasible way to find Dawn Stones in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. There is no guarantee that they will even be auctioning Dawn Stones. So, if you don’t see it the first time, you may have to return later. It resets daily, so you’ll have to wait an in-game day if you don’t see Dawn Stones.
With Dawn Stones in hand, you can now evolve Kirlia and Snorunt.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is available on Nintendo Switch.
