Hyper Beam, or TM163, is a Move TM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet that is not very effective in terms of countering an elemental type, but it deals a significant amount of damage in one turn. Pyroar is equipped with Hyper Beam by default, but pocket monsters such as Dragonite and Hydreigon can learn it through leveling up. However, with the TM163, Trainers can teach Hyper Beam to Bellibolt, Meowscarada, Garganacl, Ursaring, and dozens of others, including the Box Legendaries — Koraidon and Miraidon. Community members have discovered three locations across the regions of Paldea where Hyper Beam TM can be found.
Find the Hyper Beam TM in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
The first location where players can find the Hyper Beam TM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is the Glaseado Mountain Watchtower, which sits along the mountain range west of the Pokécenter at North Province (Area One). For further clarification, this watchtower is located on the extensive ridge east of the Glaseado Gym.

Where to Find Brave Bird TM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Hyper Beam’s first location has been discovered by YouTuber The Mad Snorlax, but another copy of TM163 has been found atop the Porto Marinada Lighthouse by YouTuber PerfectParadox. The lighthouse is located on the northern side of the town, west of the Porto Marinada Pokécenter. Finally, Game8 claims that the third location of the Hyper Beam TM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is on the small island off the coast of East Province (Area One), east of the area’s watchtower. Players can reach this area by defeating the Open Sky Titan: Bombirdier and unlocking Aquatic Mode for their Mount, enabling them to swim across the sea to the island.
After Trainers have discovered the Hyper Beam TM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet once, they will be able to craft as many copies as they wish at a Pokécenter’s TM Machine. However, they will need to ensure they have sufficient materials to complete the crafting process:
- 14,000 LP
- Tauros Hair ×3
- Dratini Scales ×8
- Goomy Goo ×5
As one might expect, each of these materials is acquired from their corresponding pocket monsters. Therefore, players can gather the resources they need to craft Hyber Beam by catching these three Pokémon.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are available on the Nintendo Switch.
