Hogwarts Legacy is only a few days or a few hours away from your platforms, depending on which version you’ve already pre-ordered. Due to the powerful hardware of next-gen consoles, players now have the option to choose how they want to play their game. Do they want a smooth experience or a better-looking one? If you are wondering which graphics mode you should choose in Hogwarts Legacy, then you’ve come to the right place.
Which Graphics Mode Should You Choose in Hogwarts Legacy
If you have owned a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X for a while, then you are familiar with games offering multiple graphics modes. Each is suitable for a certain type of player, and they should choose depending on what they want from a game.
Hogwarts Legacy offers multiple graphic modes that can be categorized into two sections: Fidelity and Performance. Fidelity will give you better visuals while Performance will give you better frames per second.
The normal Fidelity setting will give a 4K resolution with 30fps. There is also the Fidelity with Ray Tracing that will give more visuals, but you might get some frame drops here and there.
Then there is the Performance mode, which will give you 60fps but in 1080p resolution. There is also the HFR Performance mode that will give you 120fps with 1080p, but you can only benefit from this option if your TV or monitor supports HDMI 2.1.
Now, which of these graphics modes suits you is absolutely up to you, but there are some things you need to have considered. The first one is your TV or monitor which you are playing on. If your monitor or TV doesn’t support 4K, then there is no need to select the Fidelity mode or HFR Performance if you don’t have a TV with HDMI 2.1.
The second thing you should take into consideration is how you want to play the game. Do you prefer playing casually and enjoying the beautiful world of the game or are you looking for some serious challenges?

Now if you prefer playing casually then the Fidelity Mode with 4K resolution is better for you, but if you are a little hardcore gamer or 30fps seems sluggish to you, then you better select Performance Mode.
Hogwarts Legacy will be released on February 10 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, on April 4 for Xbox One and PS4, and on July 25 for Nintendo Switch.
