While almost all sports events are postponed or even canceled worldwide, due to the coronavirus epidemic, that is not the case for esports also especially CS:GO.
One example is Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the game being the fourth in the series. As most of you know, CS:GO is a multiplayer first-person shooter video game and one of the most famous video games in the world, with over 50 million players. It is developed by Valve and Hidden Path Entertainment and was released in August 2012.
CS:GO has two teams fighting each other: The Terrorists and the Counter-Terrorists, and there are many rankings involving the best teams in this game right now.
OK, so who makes the cut today as best of the best?
Natus Vincere
The Ukrainian team tops the list on different ranking sites, so it should totally be the first here also. Their form is relatively consistent in the CS:GO gaming through the years. One of the biggest wins was against Virtus.pro at the Adrenaline Cyber League in 2017. They also were runners-up at the 2015 Cluj-Napoca, 2016 Columbus, and 2018 London Major Championships.
Currently, they feature “s1mple” among the players in the roster, which is the best player in the world, and also “GuardiaN” and “electronic.”
Astralis
Second place is for the Danish team of Astralis, currently, the Major Championships defending champion. Being around this game just for a few years (founded in 2016), Astralis makes it to the top featuring main star player “dev1ce”, and also “dupreeh” and “Magisk.” In its first year, the team had a big win over OpTic Gaming in the Esports Championship Series. After this, they managed to snatch another glorious win, against FaZe Clan, at the Intel Extreme Masters World Championship.
In 2019, after winning StarLadder Major in Berlin, Astralis became the first team to win four major CSGO championships and three in a row. The other three are Katowice 2019, London 2018, and Atlanta 2017.
G2 Esports
The former Gamers2 team has a French-speaking roster, being a Spanish organization based in Berlin. The best year was 2017 when they won DreamHack Open Tours, DreamHack Masters in Malmo, and ESL Pro League Season 5.
Mousesports
This CS:GO team is part of an esports organization from Germany, which is founded in 2002. They won ICE Challenge 2020 and seven other tournaments in the past two years. “ropz,” “woxic,” and “karrighan” are among the players on the roster.
Fnatic
The team is one of the greatest all-time and won at least one CS:GO Major Championship each year since 2013, the last one being Katowice 2019. Their best players are “KRIMZ,” “Brollan,” and “JW,” but they arguably work so well together as a whole. The team is part of an esports organization with headquarters in London, which is founded in 2004.
FaZe Clan
The American team features some of the finest players in the circuit, starting with “olofmeister” and “coldzera,” but also “rain” and “NiKo.” They won ESL One in New York in 2017, defeating Team Liquid, but then lost to Cloud9 in Boston’s Eleague Major, one year later.
FaZe Clan is one of the teams you can bet on esport at Unibet. In the game against another big name, OG, the odds are -250 for FaZe Clan and 175 for the opponents. There is also a clash between Mousesports and G2 Esports, where the odds are almost even: -118 vs. -112, and a Team Liquid vs. Evil Geniuses game, with -177 vs. 130 odds.
And the most entertaining part is that you can literally watch them play online, so that will be almost as good as taking part in the action.
