Although Jen Boecher, 46, and Rishi Singh, 32, just made their reality TV debut on season 4 of 90 Day Fiancé The Other Way, fans aren’t optimistic about their future together. The couple’s intriguing love story began when Jen bumped into Rishi in a hotel lobby during her visit to India. The two immediately hit it off, and a month later, the Oklahoma woman surprisingly accepted Rishi’s marriage proposal.
However, fans have watched American Jen move to India to live with and plan her marriage to Rishi since their debut. However, things have yet to go according to plan. After making the trip to India, fans have watched Jen struggle to deal with the cultural differences. Besides that, fans also got a glimpse of the drama yet to unfold in their relationship after Jen discovered that Rishi had not informed his family about her. In the March 12 episode, Jen also found out that Rishi’s parents were still actively trying to matchmake him with other women.
The discovery understandably left Jen visibly upset and with some doubts about their relationship. After leaving her American life behind for India with hopes of marrying Yohan, she couldn’t believe her potential in-laws did not even know she existed. The gaping cultural differences and their contrasting expectations regarding marriage have also contributed to their disappointing romance. Meanwhile, 90 Day Fiancé fans also do not have high expectations for the success of their relationship.
90 Day Fiancé Fans Think Rishi Won’t Marry Jen
Since Jen moved to India for Rishi, 90 Day Fiancé fans believe the latter has not showcased any meaningful intentions toward marrying Jen. Fans became even more concerned after Rishi revealed his family didn’t know about Jen yet- If Rishi was serious about Jen, at least he would’ve informed his family. Also, their contrasting lifestyles and culture have proved exceptionally difficult for the duo to circumvent. Rishi wants a traditional wife, and Jen doesn’t fit into this category.
His refusal to make compromises and to hide Jen from his family has made many fans predict Rishi won’t marry her. Fans took to Reddit to air their thoughts concerning the duo’s relationship. Many of the users took to the comments section to express their thoughts. 90 Day Fiancé fans feel Rishi won’t marry Jen because she doesn’t fit the bill of the wife he would like to marry. A Reddit user, u/slavichoodrat, wrote,
“I think she nailed it with the why buy the cow comment. He’s clearly attracted to and interested in a physical relationship. But he kinda thought she would stay tucked away in her apartment and not bug him too much, lol.”
The fans believe Rishi is only interested in Jen for sex and would eventually drop her to marry a traditional Indian wife who would “wash and clean for him forever.”
90 Day Fiancé Fans Think Rishi Wants A Servant and Not a Wife
During the Sunday episode, Jen talked about how she had expected they would get their own place after the wedding, but that seems out of the window now. Jen also revealed how Rishi admitted he loved that she was an independent woman. So, she finds it hard to accept him wanting her to live in his family home and wait on his family members like the traditional Indian wives. On Reddit, fans have sounded the alarm over Jen’s relationship with Rishi. A 90 Day Fiancé fan u/Nopatienza noted,
“Rishi is a lying, conniving asshole. I’m sorry. You are marrying an American, independent woman who gave up everything to come to you. You already have an apartment. You expect her to wake up at 4 am and serve your family and you all day because she is the daughter-in-law. My ass would be on the first flight out.”
Some other users argued that Rishi might find the idea of an independent American woman appealing, but he will ultimately revert to his true nature. The fans also noted how Rishi’s mom wants him to marry a wife who can do house chores. Viewers think Rishi is trying hard to please both his mom and Jen. However, they are adamant such an arrangement is doomed to fail. The general feeling was that Jen should cut her losses and leave India before making a mistake she would later regret.
