Fans of 90 Day Fiancé have labeled Daniele Gates as the new Angela Deem. Fans of the 90 Day Fiancé franchise first met Daniele during season 2 of Love In Paradise — one of the spin-offs of the 90 Day Fiancé franchise. The season followed Daniele as she vacationed in the Dominican Republic, where she met and quickly got engaged to Yohan Geronimo.
Right from the start, Daniele and Yohan’s relationship faced many challenges — stemming from their cultural differences and Daniele’s desire to have a child. There was also the tiny issue of the massive 10-year age difference between them. Still, the couple remained together and tied the knot during the season finale. Following their marriage, the couple joined the cast for 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 4. The season started with Daniele relocating to the Dominican Republic to be with Yohan — and probably start a family together.
However, as the season progressed, Daniele came under heavy criticism from fans due to her treatment of Yohan. More recently, she was goaded by fans after she grilled Yohan for not telling her about an abortion his ex had while they were together. Surprisingly, Daniele responded to the criticisms by sharing a video where she claimed fans disliked her because they were jealous of her. Her response has caused quite a storm on social media, with many of the show’s fans in disbelief, and they have now drawn comparisons between her and 90 Day Fiancé star Angela Deem.
Daniele and Angela Have Similar Characters
For many of the 90 Day Fiancé fans, there are a lot of similarities between Daniele and Angela. The two are married to younger foreign men and have tended to be quite manipulative in their relationships. Most viewers have labeled Daniele a hypocrite while citing how she has kept so many secrets away from Yohan. They also slammed her for ruining Yohan’s American dream by not filing for his spousal visa and not telling him about her bankruptcy.
Meanwhile, Angela’s marriage with her husband, Michael Ilesanmi, has seen more downs than ups, and over time, most fans have turned on Angela due to her treatment of Michael. Fans have even dubbed her a narcissist due to her penchant for scathing rants at him at the slightest provocation while still trying to play the victim. On Reddit, fans have been having a go at Daniele after she accused her critics of jealousy. One user, u/zalmee, started a thread by sharing a collaged image of Daniele and Angela with the caption,
“I can’t be the only one that sees the similarities, lol..”
Several of the show’s fans agreed as they pointed out the similarities between the two reality stars. One Redditor, u/Individual-Work6658, noted how the two women felt people hated them out of jealousy instead of accepting that they were “extremely unlikeable.” The user went on to call them “narcissists” and “delusional.”
Angela and Daniele Are Both Terrible People to Their Partners
Although Angela and Daniele are in different versions of the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, they have mirrored the same behavior and treated their partners with the same level of disrespect. Daniele committed the ultimate offense by denying Yohan his dream of working in America. Despite knowing about Yohan’s American dream, Daniele still married Yohan, knowing she had no intention of bringing him to America.
Like Daniele, Angela also gaslighted Micheal without intending to take him to America. However, the most troubling thing to watch about her marriage is her poor treatment of Michael and constant gaslighting of him. One Reddit user, u/glhalvo, summed up the similarities between the two saying,
“Yeah, I was thinking Daniele tries to be a man tormenter like Angela, so TLC will keep her around forever. Good luck with that, unoriginal !!!”
While Angela has somehow managed to keep her relationship with Michael going for so long, most believe Daniele may not have the same luck. Most viewers think Daniele’s lies will almost certainly catch up with her soon enough.
