Unlike most couples on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Nicole Sherbiny and Mahmoud Elsherbiny had previously lived together as partners; however, things got so bad between them that she had to pack up her bags and head back to the US. It felt like the end of their relationship at the time until fans discovered the couple would appear in 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 4.
Although surprising, Nicole and Mahmoud looked like they had worked on their relationship since they knew what to expect. However, once the season premiered, it quickly became evident the duo got back together without addressing any of the issues that made them split the first time. In 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, season 4, the two continue to argue about their cultural differences, especially regarding Nicole’s dressing mode.
During last Sunday’s episode, things reached breaking point between the two as they clashed for the umpteenth time over Nicole’s refusal to wear a hijab. The two have shown an unwillingness to bend over the issue, and as things got heated up during the episode, Mahmoud told Nicole he was done with the relationship before leaving in anger. While speaking with the cameras, Mahmoud said he could not make Nicole happy and didn’t think he was the right person for her.
Nicole was also spotted packing her things after he left, and she told TLC cameras,
“He said he didn’t want to be with me anymore. … I feel like Mahmoud doesn’t want me, he wants some ideal version of a wife, and he wants me to go, so that’s what I’m gonna do.”
Even when Mahmoud returned, the two continued to argue and curse at each other. The episode ended on a cliffhanger, leaving fans wondering what will happen to Nicole as their relationship is falling apart.
90 Day Fiancé Nicole Gave Up Her Career and Friends For Mahmoud
With their marriage on the precipice for the second time, fans wonder what Nicole was thinking by abandoning her life in Los Angeles despite all the red flags in her relationship with Mahmoud. Nicole might not have had it all in Los Angeles, but she had a promising career and good friends. Yet, she placed everything at risk for a potential relationship.
Following the couple’s argument on the Sunday, March 12 episode, one Reddit user Raggazina started an opinion poll thread, where they asked a series of questions regarding the couples on the show. One of the questions was, “who is the one who stands to lose the most?” Most of the Reddit users agreed that Nicole stood to lose the most if she continued her relationship with Mahmoud. They narrated how fashion was her greatest hobby, and it was already off the table. Also, the fact that she wouldn’t be able to have friends is another pointer to the sad future ahead of her.
90 Day Fiancé Nicole Regrets Giving Up Her Religion
No matter what Nicole and Mahmoud do, they can’t just get it together. The two are incompatible, and that’s why Nicole’s first attempt to live in Egypt ended in disaster. However, the outcome was boldly written on the wall from the beginning. Their relationship’s first major red flag was the speed at which they married. Nicole met Mahmoud on a spiritual trip to Egypt and agreed to his marriage proposal only a few hours after the meeting. A week later, she flew back to Egypt for their wedding.
Nevertheless, the 38-year-old fashion lover quickly discovered that life as a Muslim woman living in Egypt wasn’t for her, and she returned to America fully focused on divorcing Mahmoud. For whatever reason, she made a mistake a second time and has now come to the same reality. Nicole complains bitterly about life in Egypt when she isn’t fighting with Mahmoud. The two look increasingly miserable together, and it feels like the only reasonable solution for both parties is to end the marriage that should never have been in the first place.
