Fans of Below Deck believe the series’ producers should give season 10 stew Hayley De Sola Pinto more airtime. Below Deck is an American reality TV series that first premiered on Bravo on July 1, 2013. The show follows the lives of the crew members who live and work aboard a superyacht during charter season. Over the years, the show has gained a massive fan base and expanded into other equally successful spin-offs, including Below Deck Mediterranean and Below Deck Sailing Yacht.
Although the show kicked off with OGs like Captain Lee Rosbach, chief stew Kate Chastain, and chef Ben Robinson — the series has regularly introduced several new chief stews and chefs. Ahead of current season 10, which premiered on November 21, 2022, one of the new faces that joined the “Below Deck” crew as a stew was Hayley De Sola Pinto. Two other stews — Alissa Humber and Camille Lamb — were introduced to the show alongside Hayley.
Despite not having a vast yachting experience, Haley hit the ground running and even struck a strong connection with fellow crew member Fraser Olender. Additionally, she quickly became a fan-favorite due to her goofy personality. Still, fans feel that the 25-year-old reality TV star is not getting enough airtime on the show. Many of the show’s viewers discern that she has much more to bring to the series if she is featured more often.
Below Deck Fans Love Hayley’s Personality
Fans first got a glimpse of Haley when the trailer for season 10 dropped. Her bright red hair made her stand out, and some viewers erroneously assumed her fiery hair would mean a fiery personality. However, Hayley has been a classic example of not judging a book by its cover. For many viewers, she is arguably one of the best additions to the show since it began — she does her job diligently and has a great relationship with her co-stars. Recently, some fans took their love for Hayley up a notch as they showered her with praise on Reddit. Many commenters had sweet things to say about her, but they were most impressed by her comical personality. One particular user wrote:
“lol… she’s hilarious, great sense of humor, definitely a favorite. I’d rather listen to her make quips than the others drone on how they can’t anymore, just can’t lol…”
Fans Believe Only Troublemakers Get Airtime
Despite all the positive energy Hayley brings to the show, some viewers feel that she is not getting enough airtime. They believe the show focuses more on badly behaved crewmates who cause all sorts of drama. Most of the users on the thread agreed with this line of thought and queried why bad behavior always gets the nod from producers of most reality TV series. In a bid to shed more light on the ongoing conversation, one particular user wrote:
“She tries to stay out of the drama, which isn’t a smart move if you want to get more airtime on a reality show.”
The user ended the comment by insisting that she would like to see more of Hayley on the show and called out the producers for supposedly not showing more of her. It is a general feeling that Below Deck producers prefer to push dramatic or chaotic storylines, which mostly favor troublesome cast members and leave the well-behaved ones in limbo. It will be great to see if Hayley can finally break this bias and get more airtime so fans can enjoy more of her goofy but pleasant personality.
