Below Deck fans call for Kate Chastain to take over as host for the reunions. For most reality TV series, the end-of-season reunions are one of the most anticipated episodes because they give everyone a chance at closure. For fans, they get the opportunity to relive some of the most controversial moments during the season and also get juicy details of some behind-the-scenes drama.
However, Below Deck fans have not been so lucky in that regard. According to some fans, from frequent cancellations to virtual meetings and a boring host, Below Deck reunions have become a disappointing part of the popular Bravo series. Fans of the Below Deck series have long voiced dissatisfaction with Andy Cohen’s approach to hosting the reunions. In the past, viewers have called out Cohen for letting the crew members off quickly and not holding them accountable for some actions.
Despite the constant calls from fans to change the host, Bravo has continued to brave the waters with Andy at the helm of the reunions. However, Alissa Humber’s recent revelation that the season 10 reunion has been canceled due to scheduling conflicts has brought back calls for Andy to be replaced.
Fans Think Andy Cohen Isn’t Suitable As Host
Andy Cohen may have decades of experience as a television host with his massively popular show Watch What Happens Live! earning rave reviews from audiences over the years. Still, Below Deck fans don’t think he is suitable to host the series reunions. Fans of the show have taken the news of the alleged cancellation of the season 10 reunion badly and have taken to their usual stomping ground, Reddit, to pour out their vexations.
Interestingly, rather than restricting the conversation to the canceled reunion, viewers could not help but drag Andy into the drama. Many viewers slammed his style of hosting the reunions and blamed him for everything wrong with the reunion. Reddit user u/jhartlov claimed:
“Andy Cohen is the worst. He has to start every fucking show with a rhyme, and they are all terrible.”
Another user u/Grand-Vegetable-3874 agreed:
“The biggest reason why BD reunions are boring is because of Andy. He admitted he doesn’t watch the show, so how could he make a good host?”
Many fans seemed puzzled by Bravo’s insistence on still having Andy host the show, given his admission of not watching it. Aside from other tangible reasons, they feel that is a good enough reason to have him replaced. One particular user u/Responsible_Camel693 chipped in with another reason. They said:
“I rarely watch the reunions anymore. Andy does such a shit job hosting them. Uninteresting softball questions. He’s annoying AF”
Below Deck Fans Think Kate Is A Perfect Fit
While discussing the alleged cancellation of the season 10 reunion, fans were not only about highlighting the problems, but they also suggested some solutions. After venting their frustrations about host Andy Cohen, some fans suggested that Kate Chastain could replace him; Kate previously appeared on Below Deck as a chief stew. After leaving the series, she became one of the co-hosts and executive producers in Bravo’s Chat Room. Many fans seem happy with her hosting style and consider her more suitable for the reunion.

“I really wish they’d let Kate do the Below Deck reunions. They’d be so much better.”
Meanwhile, another Redditor launched a voting poll to find out what other users thought about Kate taking the reigns of the reunion. The Below Deck alum won the poll with thousands of votes. Many of the users believe her history on the show makes her the best fit for the job.

“Honestly, Kate is more synonymous with the show than Andy for me.”

Despite the frenzy surrounding the alleged canceled reunion, Bravo has still not confirmed or denied it. There has also been no word from any other crew member. However, the silence would help producers hear the fans louder this time. Hopefully, some changes will be made.
